Basyir was born in Jakarta on January 10, 1996. He has memorized the entire Quran since the age of twelve. He is also a LIPIA alumnus concentrating on Islamic studies.

In 2014, Basyir participated in an international competition of Quran memorization in Kuwait. In the same year, he became the second winner in The Annual Competition on The Memorization of Quran and Sunnah on the level of ASEAN and Pacific Countries. He participated in many other similar competitions in Indonesia as well. He teaches Quran recitation and memorization in various classes and seminars in Indonesia.
